Membership Benefits

  • Journal of Clinical Psychology in Medical Settings (JCPMS) - Members of the Association receive access to JCPMS online by navigating to our Journal page: https://ahcpsychologists.org/springer-link/. JCPMS is the official journal of APAHC of which many members serve on the editorial board. The peer-reviewed journal publishes applied and basic research related to the work of psychologists in medical settings. Topics include interdisciplinary collaboration, integrated care, health disparities, education and training, research and practice ethics, professional development of psychologists in academic health centers, and professional practice matters in medical settings.

  • Listserv - The APAHC Listserv provides a forum for members to discuss issues and to post information relevant to training in health science centers. If you opted to be added to the listserv, your email will be added by the membership committee. Members can opt out of the Listerv anytime by logging in to your lists.apa.gov account. The Listerv is hosted through APA and follows APA rules on listserv etiquette (available on lists.apa.gov).

  • Newsletter - Grand Rounds is a semi-annual newsletter highlighting our members' work in clinical, research, educational, and leadership aspects of psychologists' roles in academic health centers. It also regularly features topics related to diversity and inclusion, APAHC events, and professional development.

  • Research Resources - The APAHC Research Committee has compiled a collection of resources to aid members in their research. The collection includes frequently updated funding resources, guidelines, relevant articles, and other resources. Check out the resource collection here.

  • APAHC National Biennial Conference - Features include the well-regarded early- and mid-career boot camps, highly valued presentations, a popular poster presentation session and fun social hours. Stay tuned and get excited as it is usually an awesome networking experience where many collaborative and mentor-mentee relationships are born!

  • APAHC Awards - Each year, the Nominations Committee and Awards Committee review and select candidates for awards in exceptional research, teaching, and contributions to psychology in AHCs as well as for outstanding ECP, MCP, and student contributions.

  • Interface with AAMC/CFAS - APAHC has two designated representatives to the Council of Faculty and Academic Societies (CFAS) who attend CFAS and promote the Association within the Council. Through their representation, APAHC members are regularly updated on topics that are relevant to practice and training of our physician colleagues.

  • Connect with APAHC on Social Media - To stay up to date on announcements, follow APAHC on social media. Like us on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/APAHCnews/ and follow us on Twitter at: https://twitter.com/APAHCnews

Programming may include presentations by previous award winners or in conjunction with other entities (e.g., Division 12 or Division 38 or Division 54). Announcements about Convention programming are posted on the listserv and the public and social media websites.
