Monday, Nov 4th @ Noon to 1 PM EST
Many early career health psychologists began their education and training in a pre- COVID world, only to find themselves navigating a quickly changing professional landscape of new challenges and opportunities. Health service educated and trained psychologists are being asked to make decisions now that could impact their career trajectory for many years to come.
The Association of Psychologists in Academic Health Centers Early Career Committee has organized a panel of professionals across the careerspan to offer insights to help you navigate your own career journey from internship and beyond.
Panelists include:
Ellen C. Joseph, PhD - Clinical Health Psychologist & Partnership Liaison, GI Psychology
Dawn H. Huber, PhD - Associate Professor & Chief of Pediatric Psychology University of Missouri School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics
Helen L. Coons, PhD, ABPP - President and Clinical Director, Women’s Mental Health Associates & Health Psychology Solutions
Panelists will share their own career pathways and discuss navigating career decisions. After registering, you will have the opportunity to submit questions for the panel to discuss. Proposed topics include, but are not limited to, choosing career setting (academic v industry v private practice, or any combination thereof), contract negotiation, and creating a healthy work/life balance.
